"John Marshal Ford was Grandpa's father. He was the oldest of 11 Children and they lived on a farm. He used to tell stories about his mother telling him to get his gun and go shoot a rabbit for her to
make some stew for supper. He was a happy man always seemed to be enjoying life. He was the strong head of his home and everyone respected him. He was a strong Christian and always enjoyed his
church life as a deacon in the Baptist church. I liked him very much and he always made me feel very welcome when we would visit them in Waco. He never wanted anyone to think he was retired and would never admit being retired."

This looks like it could have been the photo for the church directory. Would you have obeyed when this man told you you couldn't park where you were headed-- those spaces are for visitors? Tough old coot!
