I pray that some day students will think of me with even a fraction of the love and admiration all of Marian's students had for her. She was sweet, fun, stylish, but also effective. She gave me c's in handwriting and chided me for eating paper. But all the students in the school thought she was the best, and that boosted my self-esteem. I loved spending the night at her house, going to Britain's Broiler Burger and to the drive-in movie in her flashy convertible. No one gave such unconditional love as Richard-- praying for all of us until the day he died.
